Inside Netherton :

Personalities & People

Informality and Accessibility are key to communication between the Netherton Business Centre and our Tenants who are very likely to bump into one of the Partners at any time. A casual word at an opportune moment is much preferred to the formal route of memos and counter-memos to people you hardly ever see, or worse still, who can't take decisions!

You will quickly realize how different a private, 'family-owned and run' environment can be from the typical Business Centres in town.

Now please meet the team:- 'The Partners'...

David is your main point of contact - responsible for the day-to-day management and maintenance of Netherton. Any issues, he's your man.

When not in the office he can often be seen in his 'old wellies', cleaning windows, clearing snow and salting paths in the winter, and doing any of those other odd jobs that no-one else wants to do about the place.

If anybody sets off an alarm by accident, David will silence it and when they go off at 2.00 a.m. (as they sometimes do for no known reason) he will sort it out, saving Tenants an early morning drive to the office!

When the children are home he becomes a footballer, and when wearing his deer-stalker - watch out! He's probably off to reduce the ever-expanding rabbit population…

Proof positive that the "Auld Alliance" is alive and well! Noelle combines her main role of 'Head Gardener' with that of office admin'.

Brought up on a farm in the Cevennes in southern France, 'Nono' loves Scotland and, despite the climate, produces a "magnifique" display in the borders around the Business Centre every year.

She thrives upon a seasonal diet of compost, weeding, pruning and watering and is never too far from a glass of her favourite 'Cotes du Rhone'!

Nono's pride and joy are our Aylesbury ducks : Jemima and Charlie, which splash around in their pond beside the Centre.

If you're not careful, you'll call him David and wonder why you receive an odd look… Richard is twin brother to David and 'The Farmer' of the family.

He runs the combined farms at Corsindae & Fetternear and also started off the diversification project which has become Netherton Business Centre today.

Richard takes an active role in things at Netherton and always attends our monthly 'Tenant's Lunches'. He keeps himself informed about all the latest issues at Netherton and is closely involved in developing our plans for the future.

A reduction in farm activity will see Richard spending much more time at Netherton in the near future.

Married to Richard, Virginia looks after the day-to-day office admin' for the Farm Partnership and Corsindae Estate.

With a very keen eye for detail she has been actively involved in the planning and organization of services such as our Boardroom facilities, which are used by our Tenants and outside Businesses.

Virginia also attends our monthly Tenant's Lunches - so they must be good!

In her spare time, Virginia loves horse riding, frequent trips to the cinema and incredibly hot curries.

Safety and Security are very important aspects of life at Netherton Business Centre. Of course, we have installed all the necessary, modern fire and intruder alarm systems and security lighting but there are other tried and tested ways of keeping unwanted visitors away...

Meet the members of our 'on-site' Security Team :

"Bramble" - David's dog, and mother to the other two - she is still in charge, and reminds her daughters of this fact from time to time.

A great, working dog - when she's not lying in the sun!

"Collemmie" - Daughter No.1 and named after the oldest field on Fetternear Estate.

Almost identical to her Mum, except for her big brown eyes and a slightly shorter tail - she wagged it so much that she broke it and had to lose a couple of inches. Has never looked back since!

"Willow" - Daughter No.2 and instantly recognizable; she's 'The Yellow One' (equal opportunities for all at Netherton!)

At seven months she's the Baby of the Family. Still at that tiresome "chewing stage" … she makes up for it with her wonderful personality.
